The birth of methods and techniques of metameric therapeutic effects was preceded by longstanding basic researches conducted in Kiev branch of the Ukrainian Research Institute of Clinical and Experimental Neurology and Psychiatry under the guidance of Dr. Bersenev in the 80s-90s of the XX century.
The aim of the research was to study the patterns of the neurometameric innervation of the human body. The somatic and autonomic innervation of the musculoskeletal system, internal organs, cardiovascular, immune and endocrine systems, and the skin cover were thoroughly analyzed.
Metameric organization in the formation of muscles, skeleton, and body vessels.
The results of the purposeful work of the scientists’ team, headed by V. A. Bersenev, made it possible to talk about the discovery in medicine and the creation of a new direction in a medical science. Now it is possible to start creating technologies for metameric treatment of neurological syndromes, most of which are accompanied by pronounced pain sensations.
The research results allowed summarizing the patterns of metameric innervation of the skin, skeleton, muscle tissue, cardiovascular system, and internal organs, immune and endocrine systems. In particular, the monograph of V. A. Bersenev “Metamery”, “Applied metamery”, and more than a hundred of his scientific articles are devoted to this topic.
Thanks to fundamental researches, it was possible to create technologies for an effective and scientifically based medical care of patients with chronic pain syndromes of the musculoskeletal system, cardiovascular system, internal organs, as well as children with neurological insufficiency, whose diseases were previously considered incurable.
