Let's first understand what neuropsychology is.
Neuropsychology arose at the intersection of medicine and psychology. This is a section of psychology that studies the brain organization of mental processes: attention, memory, perception, speech, motor skills, thinking, and emotional responses.
The neuropsychologist not only studies the relationship between the brain and mental processes, but also knows which brain structures and how to ensure correct speech, good memory and perception, the ability to control your own behavior, hold attention, high stress resistance, and so on.
Neuro correction is a specially developed technique, a set of correctional and developmental exercises that allows you to develop “problematic”, lagging brain functions that are identified during a neuropsychological examination.
Determining the child’s capabilities allows you to develop an individual program of correctional and developmental classes, which implies both an individual selection of the tasks themselves and the determination of their number and duration.
In our center, an integrated approach is applied at each lesson: a combination of motor, cognitive, respiratory and emotional correction. All these methods together contribute to the formation and development of the mental functions of the child. The combination of methods is selected individually according to the developmental characteristics of each child. A feature of classes in our center is the emphasis on playing methods, which helps to increase the child's motivation and emotional involvement. A combination of motor activity with cognitive processes is also used. For example: speech or mnestic activity (a form of activity aimed at memorizing and reproducing information) is combined with a ball game. The combination of movement, speech and rhythm opens up the possibility for the growth of connections between various functional systems.
Correctional and developmental classes held in our center have two main forms:
- Basic neuropsychological correction. - development of basic mental functions (memory, thinking, attention and spatial representations), increase sensory sensitivity, fine motor skills
- A special neuropsychological correction that uses neurocorrection methods to overcome learning difficulties. Within its framework, correctional-developing methods are used to form the basic components of mental functions (neurodynamic indicators, interhemispheric interactions, programming, regulation and control, as well as the emotional sphere of the child).
These classes are indicated for children with ZPR (mental retardation), ZRR (delayed speech development), ADHD (attention deficit disorder and hyperactivity disorder), OHR (alalia, dysarthria), dyslexia and dysgraphia (violation of writing and reading), cerebral palsy (cerebral palsy ), ASD (autism spectrum disorder), organic disorders and learning difficulties.
The above diagnoses are established by a pediatric neurologist after a full examination. According to the appointment of a neurologist, you can make an appointment with a psychologist, speech therapist, neuropsychologist Meister Ksenia Grigoryevna.
