In our Medical Centre you can make individual ORTHOSES from thermoplastic low temperature material.
Orthoses are special orthopedic appliances designed to correct, stabilize and compensate the musculoskeletal system disorders. Orthoses provide joints protection and unloading, creating external support for them. Orthoses are indispensable helpers in treatment and rehabilitation.
In the neurologist’s children practice orthoses from thermoplastic material find their application in a number of congenital and acquired diseases that are accompanied by deformation of the musculoskeletal system. Most often Orthoses are used for the prevention and treatment of contractures and pathological settings for cerebral palsy and myopathies, clubfoot, torticollis and the hip joints dysplasia. The plastic memory and the possibility of remodeling allow you to adjust the product during the child’s treatment and growth.
Additionally, orthotics is used in the postoperative period, after athletic injuries, in cases of instability of the ligamentous apparatus, arthrosis, arthritis and many other diseases.
Such orthoses allow preserving the permissible muscle tone, reducing the risk of edema, bone and muscle atrophy, and thus significantly reduces the time for subsequent rehabilitation.
The distinguishing feature of the material is its softness and flexibility when heated in hot water (from 70 °C), and then forms a rigid structure on the body or limb when cooled to 37 °C or below.
The material with the highest biocompatibility makes the bandage as comfortable as possible, providing excellent skin ventilation and practically eliminating the possibility of itching, allergic reactions, and bedsores.
Thermoplastic low temperature material is used in more than 70 countries around the world in orthopedics, traumatology, sports medicine, and neurology.
The main advantages of such ORTHOSIS:
- Harmlessness for human body;
- Ease and comfort for the patient;
- Speed and simplicity at imposing (removal);
- Strength and semi-rigidity required for orthotics;
- Cost-effectiveness, as the material can be removed (applied), if necessary, for physiotherapy or hygiene procedures.
