Organic central nervous system (CNS) damage in children results from abnormalities in brain development caused by hypoxia, infections, intoxication, or trauma. A child may exhibit delayed psychomotor development, speech and coordination disorders, and behavioral disorders. Without proper treatment, these changes may be long-lasting or irreversible.
