Tibial nerve neuropathy is often observed in case of shinbones fractures, ankle joint dislocations, and stretching and ligamentous foot injuries. Repeated sport-related foot injuries, knee and ankle joints diseases, metabolic disorders and blood circulatory nerve disturbances are the key factors of neuropathy. Tibial nerve neuropathy manifests in the plantar foot and fingers flexion weakening, pinch disorders, skin sensory decrement of the back shin, planta and finger plantar surfaces, and painful foot, heel, and gastrocnemius muscle sensations. The patient is not able to stand on toes, but walks with a heel emphasis instead.
With a chronic tibial nerve neuropathy existence the back hip and foot muscles amyotrophy develops; and, as a result, the foot resembles a “bird arm”.
